Ruffled Butterfly Hessonite Garnet Ring

The Ruffled Butterfly Ring include several favorite techniques, beginning with my ‘lifted & layered’ technique, which adds depth and dimension to the ring’s overall appearance. I have used 2+ layers of sterling silver, which consists of a bench-made dimensional sterling silver butterfly, a cast silver twig, along with a 3mm tube set faceted Hessonite Garnet cab. Heavy gauge sterling silver wire has been added to hold up the circled twig, guarding the butterfly until it is ready to fly away.
I have ruffled the layers of metal behind the butterfly, to give it wings to fly. I also scalloped all edges of the butterfly, which has become one of my signature obsessions!
This ring has a double half-round ring band which measures a size 7-1/4”, but please note that this is what might be considered a wide band, as it measures approximately 6mm.
